Peng Shou Elected ICG President

On June 7, on the International Commission on Glass (ICG) annual meeting held in the Netherlands, Peng Shou, Chairman & President of China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd. and President of Bengbu Design & Research Institute for Glass Industry, became the first Chinese President of ICG and one of the handful leaders of international authoritative organizations in Asia Pacific, thus having highlighted the status, influence and integration power of the Chinese glass industry in the world and enhanced the discourse power of China in formulating international rules and guidelines and guiding the development direction in the global glass industry.
Peng Shou is the director of the State Key Laboratory of Float Glass. He led the independent innovation in glass engineering technology, thus having boosted the modernization of China's flat glass industry and the admission of Chinese float glass technology to the international market. Peng Shou received a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 80 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements and engineering and technology awards, more than 40 patents while having published 3 monographs and over 30 academic articles.
As an entrepreneur, Peng Shou led China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd. to fulfill its transformation from a simple research institute into a science and technology enterprise group, increase its main business revenue from RMB50 million yuan to RMB10 billion yuan, seize about 80% of the domestic high-end glass engineering market and approximately 90% of overseas glass production lines designed and constructed with Chinese technologies. The company has been ranked among the global top 200 engineering design and consulting firms for consecutive years.
International Commission on Glass is an international academic organization of the glass industry, and it was established in Venice, Italy in September 1933. The Chinese Ceramic Society was formerly accepted by the organization as a Chinese corporate memberin October 1982. In June 2007, Peng Shou as the only representative from China was elected a member of International Commission on Glass Executive Committee and was elected as Vice Chairman two years later. On the International Congress on Glass in Brazil in 2010, Peng Shou on behalf of China successfully won the bid for hosting the 2016 International Congress on Glass, an “Olympic” event of the international glass industry. At the 2011 ICG Annual Meeting, Peng Shou was elected as President-Elect.
