Argos' senior executives visit CBMA State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials

On September 29, a delegation led by President Jorge Mario Velásquez and Vice Technical President Victor Lizarralde of Argos Group, Columbia visited the State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials, China Building Materials Academy (CBMA). CBMA Vice President Ma Mingliang warmly received the visitors.
The delegation first visited the laboratory, inquiring about its expert composition, research orientation and experimental equipment. In Central and South America covered by Argos, greening of the building materials industry and green building materials research are the inevitable development orientation of the industry, Velásquez said, admiring the laboratory's significant role in and outstanding contributions to major and key generic technologies in the development of China's green building materials industry, and expressing the willingness to have further cement communication and cooperation with CBMA.
Subsequently, Ma held a discussion with the delegation, elaborating on the domestic and overseas business development of Beijing Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd. (Beijing Triumph) as CBMA's cement engineering sector. Velásquez introduced Argos' business distribution and the construction and reconstruction of its cement production lines, expressing the willingness to promote substantial project cooperation between the two sides.
As a time-honored American cement manufacturer founded in 1934, Argos began its rapid acquisition and expansion in the Caribbean including the east coast of the USA in 2000, jumped as the world's No. 18 and Central and South America's No. 3 cement group after acquiring a cement company in Florida for 720 million US dollars in January 2014, and now holds a share of over 50 percent in Columbia. The visit of Argos' senior executives has not only deepened the two sides' mutual trust and exchange, but also achieved broad consensus on cooperation in the next period.
