Song Zhiping Met with a Delegation of World Business Council for Sustainable Development

On March 31, Mr. Song Zhiping, Chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), met with a delegation led by Mr. Peter Bakker, President and CEO of World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Mr. Song Zhiping welcomed the delegation and highly spoke of the contribution that WBCSD had made to promoting global sustainable development. He indicated that as the largest cement company in the world, CNBM would continue to actively promote wider implementation of sustainable development by virtue of its influence in the sector of Chinese building materials, and hoped that the both sides would continue to intensify communication and exchanges and deepen mutual understanding for more far-reaching cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, carbon trading markets, etc.
Mr. Peter Bakker briefed on the situation and future development plan of WBCSD and the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI), and said that CNBM’s joining WBCSD as a member was significant because it would contribute to global sustainable development. CNBM has actively supported and participated in CSI-related events for a long time. He hoped that CNBM would actively make use of its advantages to learn precious experience from promoting sustainable development worldwide.
Philippe Fonta, Managing Director of CSI and the WBSCD’s Tire Industry Project (TIP), Liang Yaxin, Director of CSI, Ye Haibo, Senior Advisor of CSI, Cui Xingtai, Vice President of CNBM Company Ltd. and Chairman of China United Cement Corporation, and Zhang Jian, General Manager of Business Management Department of CNBM, attended the meeting.
