On July 3, Yao Yan, Vice Chairwoman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM) and President of the China Building Materials Academy (CBMA), met with a delegation of three members during their visit in Beijing, including Gilbert Ondongo, Minister of State for the Economy, Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector; and Daniel Owassa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Congo to China. President Cheng Hua, Secretary Xiao Hui and other relevant leaders of the Xi'an Research & Design Institute of Wall & Roof Materials (XRDIWRM) were present.
Yao welcomed the delegation, introduced the general situation, industrial status, technology advantage and overseas business development of CNBM and CBMA. Ondongo introduced the industrial projects urgently needed by the Republic of Congo. Owassa introduced the background and financing of project construction. The two sides discussed the progress of the existing cooperative projects and the work plan for the next period.
Phase 1 of the EPC project of "Makoua Building Materials Industrial Park", with a joint investment from the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Congo and XRDIWRM, was signed and initiated on May 6, 2013. The project is aimed to help the Republic of Congo establish national code, standard and quality inspection systems for building materials, especially wall materials, including auxiliary works such as sintered brick yard, sintered roof tile yard and terminal construction. Based on the rich reserves, quality raw building materials and favorable geographical location of the Republic of Congo, the project will deliver quality building materials to the neighboring countries such as the Democratic of Congo, Central Africa, Gabon, Angola, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon. The project has superior resource advantage and broad market prospect.
To further implement the strategic goal of "integration, industrialization, engineering and internationalization", with the project as the opportunity, Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo as the base, XRDIWRM will develop more wall materials and building materials equipment businesses focusing on construction projects in the Republic of Congo and Africa.
