Zimbabwe’s Largest Cement Plant Constructed by Overseas Development Branch, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. Was Put into Production

On March 16, Zimbabwe’s cement plant with the largest production capacity and the state-of-the-art facilities constructed by the Overseas Development Branch, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. (Sinoma EE) held the completion and production commencement ceremony in Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital. The Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe attended the completion and production commencement ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his speech, President Mugabe expressed his thanks to the Overseas Development Branch, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. for having completed the plant construction with high efficiency and high quality by using cutting-edge technologies. He said, the factory was designed and construction in full accordance with the world’s most advanced emission standards, minimizing pollutant emission, which resulted from the Chinese partner’s technological capabilities.
This project is located in SunwayIndustrial Park in the east of Harare. The construction was started in May 2015, and the factory was put into production after construction for one year and 9 months. The design capacity is 100 tons/hourand the annual production capacity is about 700,000 tons. The performance indicators were met, and the project progress, the construction quality, the work safety and other aspects were fully recognized by the owner, PPC Group. The smooth commencement of production demonstrated another successful practice of the cement project services of China National Building Material Group in Africa.
Mike Bimha, Zimbabwe’s industry and commerce minister, Huang Ping, the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mbete, the South Africa’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, and other political VIPs, Meng Qinglin, Sinoma EE’s chairman of the Overseas Development Branch, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Yu Yang, Sinoma EE’s deputy general managers attended the construction completion and production commencement ceremony.
